Running a Financial Planning business can be complex and time consuming, with lots of demands on your time.
Your primary focus is to be responsive to the needs of your clients, and you also need to operate in line with a strict regulatory regime.
Sometimes it is hard to find time to work on developing your business, to ensure that you have the necessary policies and processes in place - and clearly documented - should you come under scrutiny. It’s also good to step back occasionally and identify areas where you can be more efficient and consistent in your investment proposition, client proposition and client communications.
One time when this can come into sharp relief is if you are considering selling your business. As part of their due diligence, the acquiring firm will naturally expect to see evidence that you have a well-run business. Conversely, you may be setting up a new firm and need to develop your client, retirement and investment propositions from scratch.
My expert consultancy can help with the review, development, documentation and management of several key aspects of your financial planning business, which are often interlinked.
I can help with one or all of these, in line with the requirements of your business and your clients.
I have spent my entire career in Financial Services, for major business such as AXA, HBOS, Mercer and Aberdeen Standard Life.
I was responsible for the marketing and proposition development for Mercer’s individual financial planning business. I chaired the Investment Steering Committee which defined the investment proposition and governed a range of investment solutions, defined and delivered the client proposition and supporting collateral, and managed the successful integration of several Financial Planning firm acquisitions.
I now run my own consultancy and enjoy working with a variety of IFAs. I sit on or Chair a number of IFA firm's investment committees.
